With his recent third place win at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and work with musicians such as Charles Spearin of Broken Social Scene, Mikolaj Debowski has been been making a name for himself in Toronto. Mikolaj completed his B.Mus in performance at McGill University in Montreal and continued his studies at the Glenn Gould School of Music in Toronto where he received an Artist Diploma. He was been a featured soloist with numerous notable performances including the David Concertino with Brass Roots of London Ontario and Folk Rabe’s BASTA in Koerner Hall’s 21C festival. His current work involves freelancing with some of Ontario’s best ensembles and orchestras including The Toronto Brass Quintet, Canzona Chamber Orchestra, North Bay Symphony and Niagara Symphony. His involvement in the Shaw St. Collective includes trombone playing, vocals and arranging.
